Takayama Karakuri Museum - closed?

Hello. I was hoping to visit this museum in May to see the mechanical puppets and the lion masks. The website is live (but old) and google maps says that it's permanently closed. There are no trip advisor reviews since 2019, which makes me think that yes, it's actually closed. But has anyone been in Takayama recently and can confirm one way or another? Thanks.

Yes, it is closed. Has been for a few years - probably since 2020. The attached souvineer store has something else in it these days, but is also shuttered. Even when it was open, the opening days were a bit random. I also found the owner coule be a bit grumpy at times - I have been there quite a few time pre-2020.

I can answer my own question, having emailed Takayama Tourist Information. Yes, the museum is closed and will not re-open. I suppose it would be good if the museum webite was deleted, but anyway, this reply is just in case anyone has the same question in the future! :)
