You may follow the following, Specific Hiking Route Most travelers complete the entire route in three days and two nights, or in two days and one night for those with good stamina. Mt. Haguro Route (Open Year-Round) Starting from Mt. Haguro's Zuishinmon Gate, climb 2,446 stone steps (approximately 60-90 minutes one way). En route, you'll see the National Treasure Mt. Haguro Five-Story Pagoda and Ninozaka Teahouse. At the summit, the gods of the three mountains are enshrined, making it possible to worship at all three mountains from just one place. Mt. Gassan-Mt. Yudono Traverse Route (Summer Only) Starting from Mt. Gassan's 8th Station, the trail passes through Midagahara and heads to the summit (approximately 3 hours The typical descent from the summit of Mt. Gassan to Mt. Yudono takes approximately 3.5 hours via a steep, difficult path (including iron ladders). Note: Mt. Gassan is open only from July 1st to August 31st, and Mt. Yudono is open only from May 1st to early November. Accommodation: Stay at a temple lodging at the foot or summit of Mount Haguro. Don't know your second nite. https://hagurokanko.jp/en/tomaru/

My second insertion is mostly the translation of information page in Japanese language.
>How to go from mt Haduro to Mount Gassan ? Do i have to turn back on mt haduro (so the same 60-90min)? Or is there a path from top of mount Haduro to Mount Gassan? So I also have ths iquestion. This is why I dont know where you gonna stay second nite.
Herefs the ChatGtP practical answer about going from Mt. Haguro (Haduro / Haguro-san) to Mt. Gassan (Gassan-san) — specifically whether you must go back down and re-ascend or if therefs a direct mountain path: No direct hiking trail from the top of Mt. Haguro to Mt. Gassan, since there is no continuous mountain ridge trail that connects the summit of Mt. Haguro directly to Mt. Gassanfs summit for regular hikers. These are separate mountains in the Three Mountains of Dewa and while there are pilgrimage routes in the broader area, the traditional Haguro ¨ Gassan path is not a straightforward mountain-to-mountain trail like a ridgeline you can just follow.
Typical approach (return + transfer) Most people descend from Mt. Hagurofs summit (Haguro-sancho) back down the stone steps (the 60–90 min trail you mentioned) or take a bus down to the base. From there you travel to the Mt. Gassan trailhead or to the Mt. Gassan 8th station (hachigome) via bus, taxi, or private transport.
So yes, unless you have special transportation or are doing a very long, non-standard trek through old pilgrimage routes, youfll effectively go back down from Mt. Haguro first.
Common ways to get from Haguro to Gassan Here are the usual options once you reach Hagurofs summit (or base): Bus (on weekends/holidays) Local bus from Haguro Sancho (Mt. Haguro summit) to Mt. Gassan 8th station (Gassan Hachigome) — takes about 45–55 min. Taxi / private transfer: Taxi from Haguro Sancho to Gassan route start (8th station) is about 18 km / ~45 min — costs more but direct. Shukubo taxi service: Pilgrimage lodges offer shared taxi service to Gassan if buses arenft running (especially on weekdays).
Hiking double-mountain routes Pilgrims and serious hikers sometimes plan multi-day hikes linking all three sacred mountains (Haguro ¨ Gassan ¨ Yudono) using established paths and road/forest tracks, but this is a long and challenging route, not a simple direct ridge hike from Hagurofs summit to Gassanfs summit.
Summary Therefs no easy ridge trail directly from Mt. Hagurofs top to Mt. Gassanfs top. You usually go back down from Haguro and then transfer (bus/taxi) to the Gassan trailhead. Buses run seasonally (mid-summer), and taxis are the flexible alternative.

Thank you so much !! Thats exactly what u wanted to understand I guess i had that in mind https://thedewasanzan.com/articles/travel/how-to-see-all-of-the-dewa-s...So indeed i must take a shuttle bus from mount Haduro to Mount Gassan and sleep at the base of mount Gassan. So probably need to wake up very early to hike the 2h30 to go up mount Gassan and then go down (probably aim 5h) Thank you very much!
