How can I go to Engyo-jji temple from yamagami station because the cable car at the station is closed?

The ropeway does not operate until March 19. Resumes March 19.
Until then you can reach the temple only by hiking up.

I just want to add that the signage from the chairlift station is a bit scarce. There are multiple trails that go to Engyo-ji, and the one nearest to the station is marked as "Higashisaka road
/書写山東坂登山口" on Google Maps, or "書写山参道" on OpenStreetMaps (https://www.openstreetmap.org/node/12755223977)
