We�fll arrive at New Chitose Airport at 5 PM and plan to travel to Asahikawa. Is the schedule too tight to travel on the same day? Thank you

The trip by train is just a bit over 2 hours. One connection per hour. The last departure is at 21:08. So, unless you want to sleep early, it is easily doable.
