Info on a large gold shrine/monument 2005/9/22 14:41
I visited the Akita Prefecture in 1991. Unsure where thetemple/shrine/garden that featured a large gold statue of a god was. I would like info on where it is located, it's name and the god it depicts. There were several smaller statues and one I recall was a childrens shrine. Thanks in advance.

Was it in Akita City? 2007/11/14 13:23
I was living in Akita in 1991. But I can not figure it out. Do you remember how long did it take to get there from Akita Station? And how large the "God" statue was?

By any chance, you saw the statue at Lake Tazawa?

I don't think it was in Akita City, but in the Prefecture, I will scan in a photo to show what it looks like. It was a large garden setting with several god statues the gold one was the focus. It was not at Lake Tazawa, that I know for sure. Thanks for your help so far.
