Umeshu 2006/3/1 17:34
Is there any expiry to Umeshu? I bought a bottle a few years ago and has totally forgotten about it. Tried to look for the exipry date but there is none. Am wondering whether it is still drinkable? Can anyone advise?

Foggy? 2006/3/2 11:15
I am not too sure but I would have to say that if it is clear you are in the clear.
If you see fog, don't drink that grog.

Good Question 2006/3/3 04:42
Why not contact Choya or the company that produced the umeshu you have? They can give you the answer. You can then give it to us.

Drink to enjoy 2006/5/4 17:28
Plum liqour only gets better with age. since it is a spirit, it should have longevity to it. It may be even more enjoyable.

Umeshus drinkability 2008/1/28 11:58
Umeshu gets better with age. I have friends whose umeshu is 15 years old. It starts quite clear but as it gets older it goes a deep brown-red. Note: the older it is the stronger it is. I dont think it CAN go off unless you keep the lid off it all the time.
