"Nara" means flat area or basin.
Japanese word "narasu" is a varb meaning smooth, level, average...

Some Koreans insist that Japanese "Nara" is same pronouce Korean "Country", so ancient Japan is occupied by Korea.
But that is wrong.

Are you sure that "tanara" is a Japanese name that you've seen?

While "ta" written as 田 does mean "rice field," and "nara" can mean "flat basin" or the name of place Nara, but put together it does not sound like a name of a person??
