We plan to stay at the Oak Hotel at Higashiueno, Taito-ku. Can someone please tell me how best to get from Narita Airport to there? From this hotel is it possible to walk to Shinjuku?
Thanks for any information given.

Take the Keisei Skyliner or Keisei Limited Express from the airport to Ueno Station. From Ueno Station, you can walk to the hotel in about 15 minutes, or take the Ginza Subway Line for one station to Inaricho Station or take a taxi.
From this hotel is it possible to walk to Shinjuku?
Yes, but it takes about 2 hours.

Does anyone have any information on the Taito-ku area, around the Oak Hotel? I plan on staying there, and I just wanted to see if it was a relatively safe area to stay?

Not sure why you are posting here, but the area is pretty quiet compared to other parts of Tokyo. Tokyo is pretty much safe no matter where you're staying.

Peppovich,
The area around Ueno station and Ueno Park has a higher population of homeless people, but it is still pretty safe.
