Yurika Prepaid Card/1Day Subway Pass 2007/2/8 19:42
Hi, I am getting very confused after reading the Nagoya Travel Page.

I would like to know if I will be able to use the 1 day subway pass on JR trains also. Not sure what is the Japanese definition for Subways.

No. It is only valid on subways.

Subways are trains running underground (from "sub" = "under" and "way"). In Nagoya, they are operated by the City of Nagoya.

In some American cities, the term "subway" seems to have changed its meaning to refer to urban transportation, in general. You better forget about that re-definition while traveling in Japan and most of the rest of the world.

Hi Uji-san,

Thanks for the info. In that case I will just use normal tickets for my travel around Nagoya.
