Hi,
I am a Malaysian girl and going to get married with my Japanese boyfriend. I would like to know what kind of document I need for married application at japan and what I should do to migrate to Japan.

When I married in Japan, I took contact with my embassy in Japan and with the City Hall in the town we wanted to get married. Between the two of them I got a complete list of documents I needed to gather. In short, your embassy needs to supply you with a document in Japanese stating that you are eligible to marry. With that document and a birth certificate, you go to the Japanese City Hall and fill in the marriage form and then you are done. Details may vary and therefore you need to contact the embassy and City Hall yourselves.

you're in luck..just go through the process myself..i'm a malaysian too..got married in japan earlier this year..first of all where do you plan to register your marriage, in japan or malaysia..if you do it in malaysia it'll take you up to 3 weeks for registration of marriage, whereas in japan it only take you less than 2 days..both provided you have enough supporting documents for international marriage registration..for registration of marriage in japan please refer to this website http://www.geocities.com/japanfaq/japanfaq3c.html bear in mind that you'll have to make few trip(twice at least) to the malaysian embassy in Tokyo, this is only a rough guide, might differ from country to country..for malaysia marriage procedure refer to here http://www.jpn.gov.my/english/marriage1.htm

Hi Malaysian,
I had stay at Japan for about 2.5 months and back to Malaysia end May recently. After that I had requested Single Certificate from JPN at KL on early June. Now still waiting for it. Now I have some questions : (1) The Japan City Office told me that my Malaysia passport and Birth Cert. need to translate to Japanese when I do register of marriage at Japan. Is it true ??? Where can I get this help as I had try to consult some companies who specialise in translation but they dont translate passport and birth cert. (2) I will be going to Japan mid Aug this year for Japan marriage registration. So I need to apply visa. What is the reason to visit Japan I should write in the visa application form as I just back from Japan for 2.5 months. I worry Embassy wont approve visa for this time as now I do not work also . (3) If I could go to Japan this mid Aug, I understand that Japan register Marriage and apply for Spouse visa take some time. What I should do if my staying at Japan is expire (90 days) ? How and what I should do to extend my stay ? I had heard about Alien Registration and Eligibility to Stay. Do you know about it ? thanks.....
