Cheapest way from Tokyo to Narita airpt? 2007/6/16 11:18
Hello! I will be traveling to Tokyo in the next coming month and I will be buying a Suica & NEX card ''package'' to go from Narita to Tokyo, but I see that they only let you buy one per person. What would be the cheapest way to get back to Narita for my return trip? I will be staying in Asakusa. Thanks! - Jen

The cheapest (and fastest!) way to travel between Asakusa and Narita Airport is by Asakusa Subway Line and Keisei Limited Express with one transfer at Aoto Station. It is cheaper than buying the NEX & Suica package:

Yes, Asakusa Subway Line and Keisei Limited Express with one transfer at Aoto is the cheapest.

Its cost is 1,060 Yen.

I used to take it last month.

You can only get Nex tickets at JR train stations not subway stations. You should not have a problem because JR has a large station at Ikebukuro. The seat reservation office inside the JR station can do reservations for you if you decide to take the NEX.

What are some altenatives?
You can take the airport limousine bus, if you are staying at a hotel that doesn't have hotel limousine service, its easy to go to a hotel that does near by in Ikebukuro (for example the Metropolitan Hotel) has airport limousine bus service.

Other options.

bum a ride, of course! 2007/10/25 15:21
Title says it all - if you've got time to put in an ad in Tokyo Notice Board, Metropolis, or some online BBS to find someone heading that way, you can bum rides off people to get there.
