I'm going to be living near Takasaki for the next 6 months and I was wondering what the price of a Shinkansen ticket from Takasaki to Tokyo would cost. I am also wondering how long such a trip would take. Thank you.

It is a bit longer but certainly much cheaper if you went by regular train instead of Shinkansen, use hyperdia and uncheck the shinkansen option to see those results.
