I'd like some ideas to spend 2 days in a place not very far from Tokyo where I could find nice landscape, mountains, rivers, bridges, ancient towns, to make a contrast with Tokyo. I'm not very interested in hotsprings. The Japan Scenic Train would be great, but a little bit far from Tokyo...

It seems to me that the best contrasts to Tokyo are the well known Hakone (as already mentioned), Kamakura, or the fabulous Nikko. You can read about all of them on this site!
