tamahan or yuzuya ryokan in kyoto

has anyone stayed in either of these ryoken; any recommendations?
Also - we are looking for a good value hotel in Kyoto for a night or 2

I haven't stayed in a Ryokan, but Iam traveling to Kyoto this year. I did a lot of research on various travel sites looking for recommendations, and booked a room at the "Kyoto Hotel Okura." It is downtown, a few minutes from a subway station, and close to Pontocho and Gion.

I highly recommend Tamahan. It's a superb ryokan, great rooms and the food is out of this world good!
