Hi, on September 3rd I will be travelling from Takayama to Hakone. I was wondering which is the quickest method of getting there using the JR rail pass?
I would also like to know the same thing for Hiroshima to Shimoda.

I was wondering which is the quickest method of getting there using the JR rail pass?1) JR Hida limited express from Takayama to Nagoya 2) JR Tokaido Shinkansen from Nagoya to Mishima, Atami or Odawara Station, from where you can access Hakone: http://www.japan-guide.com/e/e5206.html?aFROM=2158_5200The Japan Rail Pass is not valid beyond Mishima/Atami/Odawara. I would also like to know the same thing for Hiroshima to Shimoda.1) JR Sanyo/Tokaido Shinkansen from Hiroshima to Atami. One or two transfers along the way. 2) Then take a train from Atami to Shimoda (Izukyu-Shimoda Station).
