Buses to Eihei-ji Temple 2007/9/6 10:49
Can anyone tell me where to find an English timetable for the Keifuku bus service from Fukui station to Eihei-ji temple? If there isn't anything in English a short summary of times would be really appreciated. Many thanks.

Sorry I can't tell you on buses, but if you want to know about trains, from Fukui station, change to the Echizen Railway Katsuyama Eiheiji Line, and ride that train all the way to Eiheiji-guchi Station, the temple is about a 10 minute walk from there. Trains operate about every 30 minutes and the trip takes about 25 minutes.

Thanks. I saw that site myself and got discouraged by the train changes, so was hoping to find a timetable for the Keifuku buses they talk about. I've only been able to Google to a general timetable in Japanese though.

Direct buses from Fukui Station to Eiheiji depart as follows:
10:00 (daily)
11:00 (weekends and national holidays only)
11:50 (daily)
12:30 (weekends and national holidays only)
13:30 (daily)
15:30 (daily)

In the opposite direction:
10:40 (daily)
12:30 (daily)
13:30 (weekends and national holidays only)
14:20 (daily)
15:30 (weekends and national holidays only)
16:20 (daily)

The one way journey takes 35 minutes and costs 720 Yen.

The alternative is by train and bus via Eiheiji-guchi Station, but there are not too many connections, either.
