Kawaguchi-Ko from Shuzen-ji or Shimoda

Hi, we'll make a short trip to Japan on Sept.21st and we'd like to see so many things.. In order to do that we'd like to find an easy way to get to Kawaguchi-Ko, starting either from Shuzen-Ji or from Shimoda.
The shortest trip will make us decide where to spend the night before (either ShuzenJi or Shimoda), so we can hit in the morning.

From Shuzenji:
Take the train to Mishima and then the bus to Kawaguchiko.
From Shimoda:
Take the train via Atami and Numazu to Gotemba and then the bus to Kawaguchiko.
