"i'm so happy that we became friends"

"i'm so happy that we became friends"
Anata to tomodachi ni narete, ureshiku omotte imasu.

"i hope we will be friends for a long time"
Zutto tomodachi de irareru koto wo negatte imasu.

...I put it in a polite speech, somewhat neutral in gender (well, polite enough for a woman to use) - so please let me know if you want it in informal, guy-to-guy kind of phrasing :)

I think the "casual" version given by "J-menKazu" above is perfectly OK as informal talk among good, close friends. (For guy-to-guy, I would just drop the "...ne" at the end of the second sentence. I'm sure some guys would say it, but it just adds a touch of polite/feminine tone to it.)
