Manga Anime Jobs In Japan 2007/9/15 09:15
I was wondering .. if an American moves to Japan .. and is interested in a job with anime or manga .. would they be biased and not hire you because you are American? I am only asking because I was planning on doing that myself .. except one of my professors told me that I would not get hired because I am American .. thank you for your time

Unless you have some special skills that cannot easily be provided by a Japanese employee, then the employer will select the Japanese employee over a non-Japanese employee, because hiring a foreigner involves lots of additional paperwork and efforts, such as sponsoring a visa.

Needless to say, most employers would also require Japanese language proficiency.
