Shinkansen round trip 2007/9/24 01:02
Hello, I am going for a package tour to Tokyo but it doesn't include bullet train ride. Since I have one day free and easy, I am thinking of taking the Shinkansen to explore places near Tokyo or simply just a round trip for the experience. Any idea which stations to depart and arrive? And how much does it cost? Thanks alot.

You could go to Hakone, and use the shinkansen to get to Odawara:

Thanks for your response. Can I just buy the ticket at the station? =)

Yes you can.

However, if you plan on visiting Hakone I suggest you take Odakyu trains instead.
Or at least take the Shinkansen One way, then take Odakyu trains back, you'll probably save money this way.

Odakyu trains I know is not the Shinkansen, but the ride is just as comfortable if you decide to ride in their limited express "romance cars".
