From Sunkyo to Chitose Airport

Hi! Does anyone know how long it takes to drive from Sunkyo to Chitose Airport? We're spending our last evening in Hokkaido in Sunkyo and are taking the plane in Chitose aroung 3pm. We'd like to know how early we have to leave in the morning...

I assume you mean Sounkyo.
It takes about 1.5 hours from Sounkyo to Asahikawa along Route 30. Then 90-120 minutes along the expressway to Chitose.
So, I would be calculating about 3.5 hours for the entire trip. Plus 30 minutes to return the rental car plus 60 minutes buffer time at the airport before departure of your domestic flight (more if it is an international flight).
In other words, I would be leaving Sounkyo around 10am.
Earlier if it is during winter and there is a chance of roads being snow covered.

Thank you!It will be in 2 weeks, so there shouldn't be any snow. At least we don't have to leave too early in the morning!
