December Holiday in Osaka

I plan to spend 1 weeek in Osaka over Christmas with my kids (ages 10 and 4). Any recommendations for things to do in Osaka for the family? We plan to spend a day at Universal. Do you know how much it costs to travel on the bullet train from Osaka to Tokyo? Any website to the train schedules will be most helpful Thanks!

I found JTB's tour (i.e. Free Plan) is good value for Shinkansen train + hotel if you return to Osaka and fly out of Japan:

Thanks JP for the tip. Do you know if there are special fares on shinkansen for return trips (OSAKA-TOKYO-OSAKA) without the hotel accomodation? Or do I have to purchase 2 one-way tickets? Thanks in advance!
