need help- Tokyo area or Mt. Fuji 2007/10/1 19:06
Hi,
i will be in Tokyo next week and will have 1 day off. is this a good time to see Mt. Fuji? i know its too cold to climb but is there anything recommended to do there?
or maybe another recommendation on where to spend 1 day outside Tokyo?

You can go up to the 5th station (2000m above the sea level, 8-9 degree celcious)by bus.
Another option would be to go to Hakone, ride cable cars/boats and enjoy onsen (hot spring). You can see Mt Fuji from Hakone, too.

When self organized then buy a Hakone Free Pass for Yen 5 000 and do the Hakone loop as mentioned here under travel. See: http://www.japan-guide.com/e/e5210.html
