Snack for Plum Wine 2007/10/22 04:31
I am leading a book discussion of Plum Wine. I would like to serve plum wine and a complimentary snack. Can anyone recommend a snack that is easily obtainable in the SE USA?

plum wine is umeshu?
if so then, japanese vegitable pickle (tsukemono) is good for them.

kut cucmbers, bellpappers and chinis cabbage into size of 3cm then put them into large ziploc with salt and put it in fridge for overnight.
after you take them out of bag wash them off if too salty. then serve them with mustad (wagarashi japanis mustad)

another one is called "sakiika",a drid squid. if you have oriental food market then you mite find them.

if no oriental market buy squid from market then take out all whats inside then put it out in the sun all day fo few days till it gets very hard and dry take it inside and toast it in oven for 30seconds. make sure you turn the fan on cos it really gets stinky! serve it with mayo

i hope you like them :)
