Accomodation in Nikko

Could anyone please recommend a hotel ,or ryokan with good location in Nikko. Up to 20000 yens per night for 2 people.

My daughter and I stayed in a very nice hostel which is walkable from the train station if you don't have heavy luggage. It's called Nikko Daiyagawa. That was over five years ago, but it shouldn't cost you more than a total of 10,000 yen per night. I don't remember if they offered meals or not, but we ate our meals in town. They have Japanese style accommodations and you may find yourselves sharing the floor. The baths were lovely. I believe you can find them on the Japanese hostel website. We use Japanese hostels often. Some are lovely--and some are crummy. They are not for youth only. There's also another hostel nearby that I don't know anything about called the Green Road Nikko Suginamiki

I can only suggest this site for now which looks pretty nice, it's onsen list but it has ryokan included. Prices under $200.00.

Just returned from staying here and it was very good - none of the dampness problems reported in the original Turtle.
