I have had takowasa at many izakayas and just love it. I have tried to google a receipe for and have checked out Japanese cookbooks at all the major bookstore chains and have come up with no luck.
Anyone got a good recipe they can share?

1.wash fresh octpus with solt water like massage them and drain off. 2.cut them and add solt. 3.add cut wasabi amadu duke (i think its difficult to get this, so just ignore) 4.add wasabi and wasabiduke a little, and karashi(mustard) a lot as you like. 5.after 1 or 2 days, just eat!

Thats awesome! Thanks for receipe!
Some questions:
What is "wasabi amadu duke"? Is that fresh wasabi root?
4.add wasabi and wasabiduke a little, and karashi(
Is this where you add the powder wasabi? And what is wasabiduke?
Thanks again!

hello!
''wasabi amadu duke'' is a kind pickles of wasabi. ''amadu'' is made from rice vinegar and suger.
''duke'' means to pickle.
4.add wasabi and wasabiduke... Is this where you add the powder wasabi?
add wasabi (fresh ground one, powder or paste) to cut octpus!
''wasabi-duke'' is a also kind of pickles. but not sweet.(not using ''amadu'')
dont know where you live, but there is a little possibility to get them at japanese food store.
btw, made spelling mistake! solt was salt. maybe u got it!
bye for now.
