My boss and his wife are Japanese and also having their 1st wedding anniversary in a few weeks. Is it appropriate for me to give a gift to them? If so I would like to give something traditional that may be able to go in their new home.

Hmm...it is not really common for us to give an anniversary gift to our boss unless we have a personal relationship with him/her.
Maybe something small/not so expensive would be good, such as, a nice phote frame, so they can display their photo.

Romantic gift for Japan - Sandmessage

I was surfing by Internet because my japan girlfriend's birthday is coming up and I would like to give her a special UNIQUE present. I found this original web:
www.sandmessage.com
They write your love or congratulation messages for somebody on the sand in one of the most romantic places of the Mediterranean Sea. Spain (Europe).
After this, they take a picture of your message on the beach and send to you.
Very romantic!
What do you think? It's a good idea? Do you think that could be romantic if you live in Japan?
Thanks in advice!
