Where can we activate JR rail pass?

We are traveling to Japan and need to activate our rail pass for several days after our arrival (my husband will be at a meeting in Kanagawa first and we won't use the rail pass until we have been there for a few days). We would activate it at Narita for the days we need but we are on a tight schedule when we arrive. The meeting is providing a shuttle from the airport to the meeting and we have only 1 hr after arriving and are concerned we can't get it activated before the shuttle leaves. Can someone please list all the places where a rail pass can be actived besides Narita. Or can it be done some way other than in person? Thanks!

Carol, With only an hour at Narita, I agree, you probably won't have time to exchange your voucher for your pass there. Can someone please list all the places where a rail pass can be actived besides Narita. There is a list on the official website... http://www.japanrailpass.net/eng/en001.html
