We recently spent 3 weeks travelling throughout Japan and found the JR website to be invaluable. http://www.japanrail.com/JR_hyperdia.html The hyperdia allows you to enter the names of the towns you wish to travel between and the times you wish to travel. It will then give you a number of options to choose from. We found it to be excellent to help you plan your trip as the travelling time can vary greatly depending on the time of day you choose and whether or not you choose express or local trains etc Glenda
