traveling up Japan by Shinkansen 2007/11/20 22:48
I plan on taking a week-long trip to Japan this December. My plan is to take the Shinkansen from Shimonoseki up to Hiroshima, then to Kyoto, and finally to Tokyo. From Tokyo, I plan to take a one-way plane trip to Seoul.

I have never traveled on the high speed rail in Japan before, and I'm just wondering if anyone's done this sort of thing before, and what tips could be offered. Anything would be appreciated. Thanks very much.

It is very simple and easy. Make sure you will travel light as luggage space in Japanese trains are not so big as one in Europe. And if you plan to travel at the end of Dec, trains are packed with home-goers. Book a seat as soon as possible (right after you arrive in Japan).
