Watashino nihongo

All the above examples are from my text book. Why is it ~to aimasu(in the last example)?

I met Hoshikawa-san at Narita Airport.
I met a friend of mine at the station.

I will meet with my friend at a coffee shop on Sunday.

"...to aimasu" is more like "meet up with," "(intentionally) meet someone," while "...ni aimasu" is simply to meet, to see someone, often by chance.
