Shirawakata-go, Takayama & Nagoya. 2007/11/25 19:58
Plan to visit Japan during winter 2008. Wish to spend an overnite in one of the farmhouse in Shirawakata-go plus visit Takayam and Nagoya. What is the best way to travel to these places? Armed with on English as a language, will it be diffcult to visit these places?

Where are you travelling from, Tokyo or Osaka? I, myself, will be going to these places in 3 weeks time. I'll be catching a Shinkansen from Tokyo to Nagoya. From Nagoya I'm catching train to Takayama, buses is also available but in lower frequency. Then from Takayama I'm taking a bus to Shirakawago which is the only option available. Alternatively you can take a bus directly from Nagoya to Shirakawago and work your way down ... all depends on your schedule and how much time you're want to spend on transportation.
