Do you think Naoshima is worth the trip from Osaka with a family, children 13,9 and 4??
Going to Japan in December...would it be too cold there? We have heard it is a fabulous island but wasn't sure at that time of the year

It depends on how much time you have in Japan and what other places you have on your priority list. Furthermore, note that Naoshima is mostly about modern art. I am not sure whether I would have enjoyed it as a child. For people, who can appreciate modern art, it is a very interesting island.
Going to Japan in December...would it be too cold there?
If you bring appropriate clothes, it will not be too cold. The temperatures are comparable to those in Osaka.
