About keifuku railways (trams) in Kyoto 2007/12/5 10:56
I'm interested in the tram-like mini-trains (or interurban streetcars) operated by Keifuku railways and would very much love to have a joy ride on them when I'm there in March. I have a few questions pertaining the line though, what can I do at the end of the line?

Are there places of interest worth visiting along the tram line?

I will be there during the cherry blossom season is a ride highly recommended for cherry blossom viewing?

Where are the street-running section of the line where the trams share the road with cars and buses?

Many thanks!

There are two lines. One from Omiya (at Shijo) to Arashiyama (Arashiyama Line) and one from Kitanohakubaicho to Katabiranotsuji (Kitano Line), where it meets the Arashiyama Line:

Kinkakuji, Ryoanji and Ninnaji are relatively close to the Kitano Line.

Yes, there is one passage along the Kitano Line, which is lined by cherry trees. I think it is between Utano and Narutaki Stations. Very nice from inside and from outside the train.

Between Nishioji-Sanjo and Kaikonoyashiro Stations along the Arashiyama Line.
