Can you kindly help me? I'm interested in going to Kamakura (1 day); Ft Fuji/Hakone (1 day); Nikko (1 day); and maybe Kyoto (1 day - unlikely). If I don't go to Kyoto, would it be worth it to buy a 7 day rail pass. Or, would it only make sense if I wanted to travel to Kyoto?

No. Regular tickets and different passes would be considerably cheaper.

That's right. And only if you return to Tokyo after going to Kyoto. A 7-day pas costs about the same as a shinkansen round trip between Tokyo and Kyoto.
