"Anno..." 2007/12/8 21:34
I'va been a couple of times to Japan (for holiday), and the last time (last november) I noticed that many people (on the street, television etc etc), are using the word "anno". Now I am wondering what it means??

"Anno..." simply means "Umm.." and is basically an utterance of hestitation.

ano... あの... 2007/12/10 13:35
It should only have one "n" when written in romaji as 2 n's would give it a different pronunciation and hiragana spelling.

I always thought it's spelled 'anou'. :)

Same goes for 'etou', which you can also hear sometimes at the beginning of sentences.
