2 Week Trip Expenses 2007/12/19 00:37
Hi guys

I am looking to visit Japan next year for about 2 weeks, sometimes in the summer most likely. I am wondering what to expect as far as average expense would be. I am looking to stay in either Osaka or Yokohama. I just need some idea on what kind of budget I would need.

I do plan to travel around so train pass pricing should be included most likely. Right now I was thinking of having around 3000$ at least (that includes the ticket)

Thanks for the help

This site has great information 2007/12/19 17:50

Has great information such as saving money by just buying a JR Kansai pass for transportation if staying in the Osaka area.

There is sample budgets as well at at
http://www.japan-guide.com/e/e2410.html

General sight seeing attractions will cost under around $10 such as Tokyo Tower and the Umeda Sky building with temples under $5, unless the temple and attraction is world reknowned.

Amusement parks such as fuji-q and disneyland are roughly $60 for a day passport.

So accomodation, food, and 1000 yen a day for attractions on a medium budget falls roughly at around 1500USD (1750AUD), depending on your flight costs and which train pass you chose as well as extra attractions you visit, 3000 seems feasible (shopping withheld).
