Hello, the pictures in the metro ad convinced me and I was thinking of staying this week-end (22-24 dec.) at a onsen resort where you can watch the snow. I've been told that such places could be found in Aomori, or Akita. Do you know a good place to stay, quite easily accessible by train from Tokyo? Or would it already be too crowded everywhere? Thanks a lot.

Beside Aomori and Akita, I recommend you to visit Niigata, where you will have a lot of snow and several snow viewing onsen facilities are located, such as Kadoya ryokan(inn). To get to this inn you go to Niigata station by the Shinkansen, then change for local trains.
