Staying in Tokyo area

Me and my partner will be staying in Tokyo (sight seeing etc) for about a week until moving on to the south of the country.
I shall be booking hostels soon.
Is it wise to stay in one hostel for the whole week?

That depends entirely on the hostel you have booked. If it is well situated and you like it, then it is wise to stay there and not waste sightseeing time moving your luggage from one place to another.
If you don't like it then I would say it is wiser to move to somewhere better!
