Sukiyaki, Shabu shabu 2007/12/19 15:19
Most sukiyaki are with beef and veggies, well, veggies are a given. Will someone reccomend a good place around NihonBashi for seafood sukiyaki or shabushabu? Or a really good place for Tofu made from fresh spring. Thanks.

There is a restaurant serving a blowfish shabushabu in Nihonbashi, called "Hiyoku Warikantei".
It's in the back alley behind the Nihonbashi Plaza Building. Call 03-3273-0720

Blowfish=Fugu? 2007/12/20 01:09
Thanks Mamiko, is Blowfish same as Fugu? If you cook it in hot broth, will the poison go away if it was not prepared correctly? Assumming it will not happen, but there is always a rsk, right?

Blowfish is Fugu. The whole fish isn't used, just the meat. It will be prepared by a licensed chef who will cut up the fish properly to remove any toxins.

I believe that sukiyaki is by default beef. But you can look for "seafood shabushabu" ("kaisen shabushabu"). For example, this restaurant, though it's in Ginza (phone number appears toward the bottom of the page):
