Takayama to Magome?

I will be in the Japan countryside for only 4 1/2 days in March. I want to start out in Takayama and then go to Magome & Tsumago. I know you pick up a bus from the Nakatsugama station, but how long is it to get to the Nakatsugama from Takayama? Can you take a train between the two?

I know you pick up a bus from the Nakatsugama station, but how long is it to get to the Nakatsugama from Takayama?It is called Nakatsugawa! From Takayama to Nakatsugawa by train is about 3-4 hours via Nagoya or via Mino-Ota and Tajimi. You can look up timetables here: http://www.jorudan.co.jp/english/norikae/And alternative way is taking the bus from Gero to Nakatsugawa.
