Hello! I want to work in Japan as a hair stylist. Now I am sixteen years old, but next year I will go to beauty school. I really am not sure how work there as a hair stylist, but if anyone has any advice for me, I would like that! I am not sure about how to acquire a license in Japan.

In order to acquire a Japanese license, you will have to enroll a hair stylist school in Japan to take courses on the specified subjects and practical skills for 2 years (for 3 years by correspondence )and then take a national exam (on both academic subjects and skills) in Japanese. It seems hair stylists in Japan work really hard, practicing their skills even after their business hours. So, they often finish working at midnight. If the shop is busy, they cannot even have lunch till 5 or 6pm. So a lot of licensed stylists leave thier shop or profession after a while. It is a tough job.
