Narita, Arrival at different terminals? 2008/1/16 15:52
Hi, I am flying into Narita from Australia with Qantas arriving Terminal 2, we are meeting friends coming in from London with Virgin Atlantic about an hour later than us. They land at Terminal 1. We are arriving about 9am and will be heading into Tokyo to stay at the Park hotel. We all plan to purchase the Nex/Suica package. Where abouts at the airport would be the best for us to meet them, ideally as we land first at T2 we want to head to them, but if this doesnt make sense with purchasing the train tickets and getting into Tokyo we will make alternative plans.

There is a free connection bus 2008/1/16 17:10
departing every 10 minutes. You may then meet your friends at Arrival Hall of the other terminal.

As soon as you deplane, clear immigration and customs, you might want to get to the terminal 1 by complimentary shuttle bus, which runs frequently. Then go down to the basemant 1 where the JR train station is located. You'll find a Starbucks near the staion. How about awaiting your pals from England there?

It only takes 5 minutes to walk between each Terminal. Then as optimistk mentioned above, go down to the coffee shop in basement 1 where the JR train station is located.

Thanks everyone, that sounds like good plan, we will get the shuttle over to T1 after arriving and will wait at Starbucks for the others to arrive, is the JR station there where would we catch the Narita Express into Tokyo? or is it a different train we would be better of using? we are staying at the Park hotel in the Shiodome Media Tower and looks to be a short walk from the Shimbashi JR Station.

The Starbucks is located very close to the JR station.

In your case, the Suica and NEX package seems to be the most suitable. After you get off at Tokyo, wait for the next Yokosuka Line train on the same platform for 6 to 7 minutes, catch it and alight at next stop, Shimbashi. Then walk to the hotel.

If you want to save on transport, the Keisei limited express is a good alternative.

The train to Nippori takes 70 minutes, runs every 20 minutes and costs only 1,000yen, or 10aud. From Nippori, catch the JR Yamanote Line train, or Keihintohoku Line except the daytime. Very frequent, 160yen and 14 minutes to Shimbashi.
