I just got back from Tokyo and when I was there I had 2 new (for me)types of sushi. One looked like chocolate mousse but tasted like fish and the other was a white creamy substance. I had already "Nani desu ka"-ed the busy chef to death so I didn't want to bother him anymore but they were very good and I'd love to know what I had eaten.

kanimiso & shirako? 2008/1/21 20:46
If it looked like the 2nd photo from the top, it's kani-miso (crab gut).

If it looked like this, it's shirako (milt).

It looked more like the crab gut only more brown so that is probably it. Thank you, I was really curious and didn't know how to google it!
