Do I have to live Japan? 2008/1/22 21:04
Hi, thanks for dropping by.
I got a spouse visa valid until January 2009,but my passport expires by the end of February 2008. Once my passport expires does my visa automatically becomes null?
Thanks in advance for you feedback.
Peace

No, I don't think so. But in order to do any further travel outside of Japan, you will need to have a valid passport. You should be able to get a new passport through the embassy of your country in Japan.

No, what you do is renew your passport at a embassy or consulate of your country (whatever country that appears on your passport).

Then you take both passports, (you should get your expired one back), to Immigration, and they can transfer the visa from your old passport to your new passport.
