White Actors in Japan? 2008/1/24 09:09
I'm planning on being a full time English teacher in Japan in a few years, but I'm wondering, I'm also interested in acting and would totally be willing to do acting on the side. what kind of demand is there for white actors?

Most of the Caucasian actors I've seen on TV have a very good command and fluency of Japanese. However they often portray the average stereotype of foreigners sometimes as well:

Honestly No.

There's no real demand for white actors. Thus many of what you see on TV are talents that appear on tv and maybe as extras in a tv show. But to see a white person in a Japanese movie or tv show is still scarce, not because there is a scarcity of actors, because theres no demand for it.
