Tourist Aprtment Rental / Apart-hotels 2008/1/28 05:59
Hi All.

We're looking for some advice and hoping someone here can help.

We're looking at making our 2nd trip to Japan this year and want to stay for 4 weeks so an Apartment or Aparthotel seems our best option.

The question is, does anyone have any recommendations as we're struggling to find anything that we can either book more than a month in advance of our intended stay or that is clear about what restrictions are on the booking.

I've seen a few websites that offer monthly rentals but have read somewhere on the forums that you need to be on a working visa and not a tourist visa to be able to rent them but the websites dont mention that.

Rather than book and run the risk, we want to be sure we have somewhere to stay so any suggestions would be welcomed.

We only need basic, studio sized, it's literally a base to re-explore from and to dump the majority of our luggage :)

If you stay in Tokyo, Oakwood is the safest option.

Other possibilities:
J&F Apartment (scroll down to serviced apartment)http://www.jafnet.co.jp/plaza/contentse/e_top.htm
Sakura House :

I'll be staying here in March so I can't comment on how it is but everything looks good on the web site and the contact person has been very helpful.

Thanks all.

The LiveInAsia.com site seems like our best option, have emailed them to see what they can offer for our proposed dates, would be interesting to see if anyone on here has stayed with them in the past.

Thanks
