Suggestions on Kyoto Station dining

I'm going to Japan with a group from school. We're going to be staying near the Kyoto Station for a while and will be able to eat wherever we want. I'm looking for suggestions about where or what to eat.

in Kyoto station there is a big food floor on an upper floor, to the left of the giant staircase-and- escalators combo on the west side, plus more restaurants in the Isetan department store on one side of the station and still more restaurants in the underground mall that links the station with the subway. There are both Japanese restaurants and western style ones. most restaurants have displays in their window showing realistic replicas of the various dishes, drinks etc. they serve and their prices too.
