Hakone and Mt. Fuji One-day trip 2008/2/5 19:15
Can Hakone area and Mt. Fuji be visited in one day ? I plan to visit Japan early March. I plan to use Tozan train start from odawara, use cable car and ropeway to togendai, cruise Lake ashi, then back to Togendai to find a bus to Gotemba. But I'm not quite sure whether from Gotemba, I will be able to reach Mt. Fuji or not, or it worths doing that or not.

Thank you very much in advances.

Yes, there a guided bus tours from Tokyo:

If you do it on your own, it is not recommended, assuming you start and end your day in Tokyo. It is too much time on trains and buses and not enough time of actual sightseeing.

Of course, on clear days, it is possible to see Mount Fuji from Hakone! A daytrip to just Hakone is feasible.
