Is it worth going to Kii Peninsula and Shingu?
Guidebooks say stunning coastline and spectacular gorge. Books say take a bus from Shingu to Shiko and then do 2 hour boat trip along Kumano River.
We plan to go 23- 25 April.
Is it easy to get there if we take a ferry from Tokushima to Wakayama?

If you are based in Tokushima, yes, then it is easy to get there by ferry. If not, it depends from where you will be coming.
If you come from Tokyo, taking a direct flight to Shirahama Airport is the easies and fastest way of access.
If you come from Osaka/Kyoto, taking the direct limited express train is the easiest and fastest way of access.

I am planning also to go there in July. Is there a direct connection by bus from Koyasan to Shingu?

No, there are no direct buses to Gojo. There is a bus to Shingu from Gojo Station (about 2 hours east of Koyasan by train), but it is a very long ride. Furthermore, there is a bus connection from Koyasan to Shirahama, but multiple transfers of buses are required along the way, and I think the buses do not operate during winter.
